Education and experience

Eric Papon obtained his Msc. in Molecules and Organic Materials from the University of Bordeaux 1 (France) in 1988. His Ph.D was awarded by the University of Bordeaux 1 in 1992 following his research work supervised by Dr. A. Deffieux at the Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques (LCPO-UMR5629). After a post-doc in the Makromolekulare Chemie I  laboratory at the Univerity of Bayreuth (Germany) under the supervision of O. Nuyken and G. Latterman, he joined the Institut du Pin, University of Bordeaux 1 as an Associate Professor. He took up the post of Professor at the Chemistry and Physics Higher Educational Institution (ENSCPB) in 2001 and achieved his research at the Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques (LCPO-UMR5629).

Scientific animation

He is the Head of the Carnot Institute Materials & Systems Institute of Bordeaux and the President of the French Adhesion Society (2005-2009).
He is the Chairman of the World Congress on Adhesion and Related Processes WCARP4 which will be held in 2010 (Arcachon, France).


SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION

He has published approx. 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 10 patents, approx. 60 communications and has given 5 invited lectures at international conferences. He has directed 15 Ph-D and advised 13 Post-Docs. He has been invited as the principal reviewer for 24 PhD thesis.
