Project summary

Economic constraints and societal challenges require a more rational design and alternative synthesis methods for polymers, in order to meet the need for more sustainable end-of-life management while ensuring optimal performance during use.
This PhD project aims to develop environmentally friendly synthesis methods to create a platform of degradable polymers, while avoiding the use of petroleum as a base resource for monomers. The objective is to design bio-based polymers incorporating appropriate functional groups into their backbone to enable easy degradation after use in application.
The thesis will be carried out at LCPO in Bordeaux, under the supervision of Pr. D. Taton, in close collaboration with L’Oréal, as part of the joint laboratory between LCPO and L’Oréal Advanced Research.
