Education and experience :

    Has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Aix-Marseille Université, France. His PhD work was developed at the Centre Interdisciplinaire de Nanoscience de Marseille - CINaM under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Manuel RAIMUNDO and was focused on heterocyclic synthesis, more specifically in the synthesis of π-conjugated systems, such as paracyclophanes and heteracalixarenes with sulfur, nitrogen and mixed N,S-bridges.

After his Ph.D., Vinicius went to work as Postdoctoral Researcher at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre - Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Henri Stephan Schrekker, in highly interdisciplinary projects involving organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials science and engineering, medicinal chemistry and biology, such as "Synthesis of imidazolium salts and functionalization of nanostructures for application as anticancer and antiviral agents" and "Synthesis and application of ionic liquids as additive or interface compatibilizer in the preparation of polymer materials and polymer matrix composites".
